As part of our training we decided we’d use the opportunity of having a short break in the Lake District to do a recce of our 2nd peak – Scafell Pike. Unfortunately, we’d no chance to reach summit on this day. Having ascended about 1/3 of the way, we had to turn around and return to the safety of Wasdale Head. What this photo doesn’t show are the 65mph winds which we’d have had to face at the top.
Let’s hope August is a bit better!
